The model airplane building society is a well-known group of model aviators.
As an avid model builder, judge and model airplane flyer, Don Butman has been a member of several airplane modeling clubs over the years.
As a builder and modeler, it’s always a good idea to keep in contact and get involved in Flying Clubs.
Checkout these links to find out more about model airplane flying clubs, and have fun building and flying your own model airplanes!
Here are some of the Clubs that Don recommends:
The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) is an excellent organization that sponsors Events and hosts Conventions.
The AMA interfaces with the FAA, and provides good information for all aviators including model airplane builders and flyers.
The Blacksheep Exhibition Squadron is a “general interest” model club. Members build and fly all types of model aircraft including helicopters. Model aircraft types include radio control, control-line and indoor scale models.
The Blacksheep Exhibition Squadron is not indecisive — it’s inclusive! Club members always have FUN with the hobby, and try not to take things too seriously.
The San Fernando Valley Radio Control Flyers is AMA Charter Club # 152. As an AMA-affiliated membership organization,
the Valley Radio Control Flyers often host flying events and contests throughout the year, and publish a monthly Newsletter.
The AMA has recognized the San Fernando Valley Flyers as a Leader Club with Gold Status.
